Was born on 18th June 1958. Followed in the footsteps of his father Late Shri. Harish Chandra Rastogi who was an eminent civil lawyer in Rajasthan High Court and joined the bar in 1982.

During his years at the bar practised in different spheres of law but specialized in constitutional and service laws. Was nominated as the standing counsel for the Rajasthan High Court in the year 1990 and continued as such till his elevation in the year 2004. Remained President of the Rajasthan High Court Bar Association at Jaipur in the year 1999-2000.

Pursuant to his appointment as a judge of the Rajasthan High Court he remained Executive Chairman of the State Legal Services Authority from 14.10.2013 to 18.10.2016. Under his stewardship, SLSA won the National Award from National Legal Services Authority for three consecutive years. Was appointed as the Administrative Judge of the Rajasthan High Court on 19.07.2014 and continued as such till his elevation as Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court on 01.03.2018. Also remained Acting Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court from 14.04.2016 to 13.05.2016.

Was elevated as Judge of the Supreme Court on 02.11.2018.

Mr. Justice Sudhansu Jyoti Mukhopadhaya was appointed as a permanent Judge of the High Court of Patna on 8th November, 1994. He was transferred on 15th November 2000 as permanent judge of the High Court of Jharkhand on its creation, where he served as the Acting Chief Justice for about a year and three months. On 31st August 2006 he was transferred and joined as the first Puisne judge in the High Court of Madras where he also functioned as the Acting Chief Justice for about five months. Thereafter from 8th December 2009 to 12th September 2011 he was the Chief Justice of the High Court of Gujarat.

On 13th September 2011 he was elevated to the Supreme Court of India from where he retired on 14th March 2015.

On 1st June 2016 he joined as the first Chairperson of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal.

After the retirement, he has been appointed as the first Chairperson of National Company Law Appellate Tribunal on 1st June, 2016. In his capacity as the Chairperson, he has delivered judgments explaining different provisions of newly enacted Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 on which there is no precedent.

Justice Hemant Gupta enrolled as an advocate in July 1980 and began practicing in the Chandigarh District Court before shifting his practice to the Punjab & Haryana High Court. As an advocate, he primarily argued in Civil cases. He was appointed as Additional Advocate General, Punjab in 1997 and served until 1999.

Shortly thereafter on July 2nd, 2002, he was appointed as a Judge of Punjab & Haryana HC.

Justice Gupta was the Executive Chairman of the State Legal Services Committee, Chandigarh between July 2012 and January 2016. On February 8th 2016, he was transferred to the Patna HC. He was later appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of the Patna HC on October 29th, 2016. He was transferred once again on March 18th, 2017, to the Madhya Pradesh HC to serve as Chief Justice.

Justice Gupta was elevated to the Supreme Court on November 2nd, 2018. He is set to retire on October 16th, 2022 after serving a tenure of nearly four years.

Justice Verma’s legal career was rooted in civil law, primarily under the guidance of his father, the late Shri R.P. Verma, a distinguished lawyer of his time. He practiced as an Advocate on the civil side until his elevation in 1994. During his tenure as an Administrative Judge of Indore until August 2005, he played a significant role in judicial administration. Subsequently, he continued his service as the Administrative Judge at the High Court of Madhya Pradesh in Jabalpur.

Justice Verma’s judicial career culminated with his appointment as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India in 2009. Swatanter Kumar is a retired justice of the Supreme Court of India and former chairperson of the National Green Tribunal. He is also former chief justice of Bombay High Court and judge of the Delhi High Court and the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Kumar enrolled as an advocate with the Delhi Bar Council on 12 July 1971. He practiced in various high courts, tribunals and the Supreme Court, and served as an additional district & sessions judge in the Himachal Pradesh High Court from February, 1983 till his resignation in October 1983, and thereafter resumed practice at New Delhi. Ms. Anjana Prakash:

ANJANA Prakash is a senior advocate at the Supreme Court, and a former judge of the Patna High Court. An alumna of the Patna Women’s College, she studied law at the Bhagalpur University. She practised at the Patna High Court and rose to be among the ranks of the topmost criminal lawyers in that court. She was the first woman to be elevated to the position of senior advocate at the Patna High Court, along with Justice Seema Ali Khan. During her time at the Patna High Court, she was known to be an astute lawyer with a kind heart and a jovial attitude, always ready to help people who needed legal aid and advice the most. She was especially interested in child rights and civil liberties, and acted as amicus curiae in multiple matters.

A Senior Advocate, based in New Delhi who practices mainly before the Supreme Court of India in the constitutional and commercial field. He has particular expertise in arbitration, both domestic and international.

He was Additional Solicitor General of India in the Supreme Court from 2009 to 2014. In that capacity he represented the Government of India in a number of important cases. For instance in Republic of Italy v Union of India (The Italian Marines case), he successfully represented the Government in persuading the Court to hold that India had concurrent jurisdiction to prosecute Italian marines accused of shooting Indian fishermen with the Exclusive Economic Zone of India.

He has appeared as an advocate in a large number of domestic and international commercial arbitrations seated in India and abroad (Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Amsterdam, etc.). He specializes in high stake and high value commercial litigation before the Courts. He has been party to various reports which have led to reform in India’s arbitration law.
